The first half with the Bufkin storyline didn't interest me at all, but I did like the second half.

Not as epic as last volume which i finished on 3 reading sessions in 2 days, it was even longer then this one.
Bufkin story : even though its very good what was missing from it, maybe linking it and making it relevant to the main story of fables, it was worthy of a limited series outside of the main storyline i feel that it held me down and slowed me, but great for him and Lilly how they have lived their lives together <3
As for the story of snow and her first husband, also not as epic as most of the fables storylines, but none the less, it will effect the storyline exponentially! now where did i get that word from hmmm :P

Consider the rating as for the latter 2/3 of the book.

I've got to admit, by this point I'm sick to death of Bufkin. The previous storylines were fine, but...urgh. Furthermore, his travelling-between-worlds-with-a-faithful-animated-companion (plus another in his case) is just a shade too like a certain character in a side series (no spoilers...). I read the first few pages then had to flip on to see just how far it'd drag out.

The remainder of the book was good, though I'd not rate it as one of the best by a long shot.

I'll continue reading but I was generally disappointed in this book considering how much I've enjoyed the rest of the series. Beast's arc was the redeeming factor, otherwise I might not have managed to summon up the enthusiasm for a three star rating.

I'm ready to move on and try the next, hopeful that it'll be a step in the right direction.

It's Fables! Is there any way I'd give it less than 5 stars? I adore everything about this series, and this volume definitely delivers! We get a great wrap-up of the Bufkin story to kick things off on a light note, but the rest of the volume takes us to some pretty dark places... and leaves off with a cliffhanger of sorts that made me want to jump out of my skin (or call up the author and say, "Do something! Take it back! Make it all better!). My chief complaint about this series is that I binge-read it to start with, but now that I'm caught up, it's a long six-month wait for the next volume.

SO MUCH TRAGEDY wow, this series pulls no punches and just really makes its characters suffer, but it makes for great reading.

Brandish can CHOKE

I'm at a point where I'm only a couple volumes from finishing the Fables+ universe that I might as well keep going to see where it all ends
