Feels like book lovers by Emily Henry’s best friend. Equally adorable and entertaining rom com vibes

A pretty decent book to pass the time, wish the pacing was a little bit slower but it was ok!
would be better without the misscomunication trophe tbh

this book is no show and all tell. just page after page of the most uninteresting dialogue i’ve read in countless other books, and i felt no emotional connection to either love interest. it was so insipid that i felt i had to turn my brain off before opening it up.

it was overhyped. the author said “sad puppy dog face” or something like that wayyyyyyy too many times when referring to alex. also, the events of ten summers ago was building up to something really huge and it wasn’t at all. it was so underwhelming. poppy and alex are cute for sure, but very forgettable and average.

The book kept me wanting more and, by the end of each chapter, I couldn't stop myself from reading on because I was so invested in the characters and story. The book is a little cheesy and caters well to a teenage audience, so I am not sure how an older audience would like it but I loved it! Alex and Poppy were great characters to follow.

Emily Henry just gets me. This might be my favorite of hers, even more than Book Lovers (although that could be recency bias talking)

Beautiful

This romance is so cute, heartfelt, and beautiful. Alex and poppy have an envious connection. A must read for sure.
