Creed is the second book in the Unfinished Hero series. The story opens with Sylvie finding out that her former lover, Creed has been hired by her boss, Knight to help find out who has been causing problems in his business. Sylvie has worked for Knight for a while and has been everything from security to investigator, but she loses her cool when she finds out that Creed is going to be back in her life. Sylvie and Creed met when both of them are very young. When their relationship ended, Sylvie was devastated. She can't face seeing him again after 16 years apart.
As always, Kristen Ashley has created memorable characters leading interesting lives full of angst and emotion, and this came through clearly in this book. The story however was not as interesting. The issue with Knight's business is resolved fairly early in the story making it difficult to understand why Creed is still around. In addition, the conflict between Creed and Sylvie is also settled fairly early in the book. Issues arise in the book that seem easily solved, leaving the feeling that the story never really takes off. Overall, a fairly weak entry in the Unfinished Hero series.

Giving a KA book a 3 star rating is a shock to my system. I have enjoyed every other book that I have read so far from KA much better than this one. I'm going to have to think on this one a bit before I write an actual review.
Boring! Serious disappointment after Knight, the first book in the series. Just all around convoluted, uncompelling, trying too hard, disjointed plot that never got a head of steam - boring!
Flashbacks - stupid and never fully fleshed out.
Epilogue with ridiculous baby cramming forward jumps - eye rolling.
Blargh! Knight so good, Creed so lame!
Ooooh, buttsex! Edgy!

Let’s get it!!!! This was WAY better than Knight which makes me a very happy gal.
I’m beginning to learn how versatile KA can be with her writing styles. These are a lot more intense than her other series I’ve read.
What worked: Sylvie was badass. She’s angry and messed up and deals with it. I love a good second chance romance too.
What kept this from being 4+ stars: We got the reasoning for the whole children name situations. It made sense completely, but I still felt sad and that slightly ruined it for me. ALSO Knight god damn Serbing. I seriously want to scream at him. He proves he’s not a complete psychopath with Sylvie. She gets the sweet side of him. Not his, Anya (almost said wife but we know she’s not). Also I completely support having a platonic relationship with members of the opposite sex. Hell, I have that too. In the short moments we saw them interact, it almost felt sweeter than her times with Creed. Who by the way, I actually fucking like (except with the whole name debacle).
Any who, glad this was better and hoping the next ones good too.

UGH. This book left me feeling the same way "Knight" did. I hated it - but I can't stop thinking about it. And while I was reading and hating it, I couldn't put it down. These books just stick with you when you finish them. The stories are compelling - some cliches, maybe, but still compelling. It just.. it gets under your skin.
In order to come to terms with my feelings about this book, I'm going to talk about what bugs me.
First: It's like Kristen Ashley has this idea in her head that all tough guys talk a certain way. Knight and Creed had different upbringings, but yet they talk exactly the same way. If someone said "You with me?" or "You get me?" one more time, I would have punched them. Metaphorically, since they are in fact fictional characters.
Second: No, I do not agree that the whole childrens' names thing was an act of love. I don't care what the meaning behind it was, it still felt like a betrayal. I think Sylvie's initial reaction was spot on, because I would have done the same thing.
Something I really liked - Creed was a damn good father. Despite his crappy upbringing, and everything that happened to him as an adult, he really loves his kids, and you can see how good he is with them.
But still.. just.. UGH. I don't think there is a word in the English language that properly explains how I feel about this. The closest I can come is ambivalent, but even that doesn't seem like enough.
And you know what? Despite all this, I will probably be searching out the next book in the series any day now. And I kind of hate myself for that.

I really enjoyed this book, as in REALLY! Great Hero and Heroine, no stupid bitch drama! Gut wrenching past but a beautiful future!
