I liked the first quarter of this book which was gritty and angsty but once Creed/Sylvie got together the tone of the book shifts and nothing actually happens. Sylvie stops being a badass and constantly talks about how in love she is with Creed and how it’s always been them which I don’t buy considering what happened in the 16 years they were apart.

I felt annoyed at how happy Creed was in the present chapters. It’s unfair he got everything he wanted while Sylvie basically had a miserable life until they met again. I think Sylvie deserves someone better than Creed after what she went through and I cannot get over the kids names thing.

The only concession I guess is the epilogue
where they have 4 kids together so his family with Sylvie is bigger than the one he had with the OW

Giving a KA book a 3 star rating is a shock to my system. I have enjoyed every other book that I have read so far from KA much better than this one. I'm going to have to think on this one a bit before I write an actual review.

Can’t believe I’m going to say this but I think I liked Knight better. I liked Creed and his macho guy ways, but Sylvie and her constant drive prove she was the biggest macho of them all drove me insane and I really didn’t like her.
I understood that she had a bad time of it, they both did but she was just too full on and that didn’t work for me, luckily the storyline was entertaining enough that I was able to enjoy parts of it.

This is a solid book. In many ways one of the best written KA books I've read to date.
It is very hard to pull off the reunited lovers story and have the characters still be lovable or even likable. It is also a challenge to write stories that go back and forth in time. It's like that level of plot intricacy makes writers loose their minds and put drivel on paper, likely the consequences of mental time machining.

Herein then is my struggle. This is a good book. In a lot of ways a great book. A complex heroine and a hero who loves her. But it was not my favorite. I gave the 4 stars bc it deserves at least that but my internal voice says I'll never touch this one again,. Thus knowing it has no chance at the illustrious 5/5. And is that not the point of a solid 4 star rating? That I might think it worthy of my fifth star? Perhaps. But that is not going to happen here. So I'll give what the book has likely earned, BUT it it must be noted that for me, I'm ambivalent on this one.

Too much with the drama. It felt like they grew up in the 1930s or something, not modern day Kentucky. I was over the flashbacks less than halfway through the book. Still there is one awesome bickering scene in a warehouse during one of the few action sequences in this book that make it worth reading.

Creed was awesome! I loved Sylvie so much, and of course, Creed wasn't so shabby either.

I'm a sucker for a "lost love found" book.
