I am not a sporty person, but I absolutely LOVED this book. I think sporty people will love it even more, if that's possible. I listened to the audiobook and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Just fabulous.

All the stars for this one. Graves draws on his own experiences as a teen on the Red Lake Indian Reservation to give teens a basketball story with plenty of heart and grit, along with thought-provoking social commentary. A strong debut, and worthy recipient of this year’s William C. Morris YA Debut Award.

I'm always on the lookout for YA sports books that do a great job actually describing the action of the sport as well as telling a great story with good character development. This absolutely meets that criteria and also centers native characters as well. Cannot recommend enough.
