I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It was easy to read and had an interesting plot line, but for some nagging reason it just did not hold my attention. After I put it down, I found it hard to find the time to pick it back up. I probably expected more from an Archer novel and wasn't finding what I'd hoped for. I would still read it again--but maybe when I had more free time to spare.

This book had me gripped from cover to cover! I really enjoyed the story although there were moments where some things (without giving too much away) just felt like they too coincidentally worked in the protagonist's favour. That being said, it was quite a leisurely read. Despite being a rather thick book, I read it faster than I would most shorter novels. I will definitely be seeking out another Jeffrey Archer novel soon!

I absolutely loved it. There's something about me and court room dramas.

Jeffrey Archer is a damn good story teller and he kept me engaged for the entirety of this book.

There's something when you don't wanna put it down even after hours of reading.

A definite page turner.

Highly improbable story on many levels, but a good yarn nevertheless as long as you are willing to suspend disbelief (a bit like the series Prison Break in that respect). Obviously a lot of the day to day routine in Belmarsh prison comes from Archer's own experience, I found that knowledge a bit distracting while I was reading it.

I really enjoyed this book. It definitely picked up in the end. The story was very reminiscent of The Count of Monte Cristo but it was pulled off very differently.

Really didn't WANT to like this but found it to be an enjoyable courtroom yomp.

Read it in two days - it's a page turner for sure.
