I thought I would never read a history book again after finishing my history degree. But it turns out there is a fairly large difference between cramming 200 pages of a dry academic text into your brain on a Saturday morning and reading something in a more conversational tone for the pure enjoyment of it. Really good book. I listened to the audio book (which is very well narrated by the author), mostly while walking and while driving to and from work. It's only about four hours long, so it didn't feel overwhelming, like some audio books do. I have checked out multiple audio books from the library, gotten a few hours in, had them automatically return, checked them out again, and repeated over and over before giving up. But I got through this one pretty easily! It held my attention from the very beginning. Highly recommend if the title interests you at all!
