it feels weird to be done with Solo Leveling after having read it for so long. i'm a little disappointed, to be honest. the final volume was (in my opinion) unnecessarily long. the actual story could have ended in the 7th volume and the 8th could have been all the short stories (and it would have been less confusing in the audiobook). the short stories jumped around quite a bit in terms of the timeline, and while the idea was cool, i think it could have been better executed

i don't know if this counts as spoilers, but just in case:
the second half of the series felt very predictable, and i think Jinwoo being so overpowered really played into that - i knew Jinwoo would win no matter what, so there was never any sense of danger. and i know he's the main character, but i wanted to see more of the side characters! none of this means it was a bad story; i still really enjoyed SL and would gladly reread it. it's just that the story started to go downhill for me after the ants on Jeju Island

Was not expecting so many bonus stories after the last chapter but was surprised in a good way with it and very happy. The ending was a tad abrupt I felt, so it was nice to have these short stories to soft it.

Overall this series is far from perfect but it's still great in a way and I've really grown to love the characters so it was a very enjoyable read.

While I loved this series, and the finish was strong, over half of the book was short stories set in the world of Solo Leveling... and they were really hit or miss. I would have like to know more about the reset, and the battles with the other Monarchs... but overall, a good end to the series!
