A fun take on fake dating and forced proximity. I loved that most of this book takes place in Canada (with accurate stereotypes). The characters were fun with good depth/backstory. Didn’t love how rushed the ending felt and some details and logistics were missing for a satisfying conclusion.

3.5⭐️ this was a fun book it wasn’t really anything special but I did enjoy it and it was a fun little beach read and I enjoyed this series over all and I’m glad I finally finished it! I would definitely read more from this author in the future

2.5 rounded up? Amy Lea’s books are usually a solid 3 stars every time, interesting and well written enough to keep me hooked but also not necessarily anything super special. This book was a little less believable (she convinces this heartbroken, surly man to FALL IN LOVE WITH HER and have her MOVE INTO HIS FAMILY HOME in a WEEK??)

But my biggest problem was the hotel influencing gig she had. The whole reason she stayed and ended up at this man’s Airbnb in the first place is because she couldn’t afford a flight home and needed to stay in Canada for an extra week. That was totally fine w me — made sense. THEN she decides to dump the hotel gig altogether (huh? doesn’t she need that money? and doesn’t that look insanely bad for her?) and flies home! like it wasn’t hard! You can’t set a set of facts that drive the entire plot and then change the level of consequence at the end. I realize that’s a small issue but it genuinely pissed me off (obviously) !!

One thing about me is that I love small-town romances. Seriously, they get me every time. I did find Evan a little too perfect— something I had noticed and disliked in the first book in the series— but I'm gonna let it slide because the setting was so darn cute.
