This is by far my favorite Amy Lea so far! This is my fav trope “hardened sailer meats city girl”! I have not been in my smutty era, and this definitely has some, but nothing so crazy that it ruined it for me! So cute and LOVED the family element! UGH!

I guess this was probably my favorite in the series, but just like in the first one, Mel has serious trust issues that it can feel a bit much. That being said, I see WHY she has them, and the reasoning made me sympathetic to her struggles.
I’m really in love with the Whalers though.

Plot reminds me of the movie The Proposal. The pacing felt a bit slow but I relate to Melanie in a couple of ways and could understand her motives for some actions. I do enjoy how it ended, but I feel like we got closure on Crystal's story and Melanie's, but Tara's wasn't 100% done, like we knew what she had been planning but the epilogue didn't mention it and I want to know if Melanie was around to be a part of it.
Overall, I enjoyed the series.

50% way through I started losing interest. I didn't care about the family drama, and I got bored with the MC's. It started to lose its humour too, started to feel more like it was trying to be funny. Kinda disappointed because it started off good, and the tropes where some of my favourite. Not much chemistry unfortunately, probably would have benefited from a second POV.
It wasn't bad in the way most books are that get a 2 star rating from me. It just wasn't that good and I feel let down...

This was the best one yet in this series! I've been excited for this one since reading the preview in the end of the second book. The premise, the setting, the enemies to lovers. It was really good.
I really enjoyed our previous love interests but sometimes wished it was multiple pov in order to get to know them better. I didn't think this one needed it. I felt connected to the romance and I felt like i knew evan and what he was thinking despite the fact we didn't get his pov.
Melanie was a really strong main character. I really liked the discussions around the way women are seen and belittled on the internet.
This was one was described as the proposal meets when you were sleeping - and it is that, but it also gave me some 'it happened one summer' vibes. i'm actually sad this is the last book in this particular series (amy lea how dare you mention a silver fox single dad neighbourgh and never show him on page. i am offended.) but will certainly look for what the author comes out with next as i really think she has improved with each book.

Boston based influencer, Melanie, sets course to a small fishing town in Novia Scotia in hopes or reviving her flailing brand. Unfortunately for her when she arrives, she learns there has been a booking mistake.
She scrambles to find accommodations and ends up at a small bed and breakfast. It’s here she meets the burly and not so nice, Evan. After a boating accident lands Evan in the hospital, he mistakes Mel for his past fiancée. She agrees to go along with it for a week in exchange for help with her social media content.
It’s not long before the two go from fake dating, to real feelings, but will they turn into anything more than desires?
This was my second book by this author, and I think that it is going to be my last. I love books about influencers, and wanted to love this series so much, which is why I gave this book a shot. My initial thoughts were that it sounded almost exactly like another book I have read and really enjoyed, and after reading it, I can say that yes, they are very similar.
I did love the banter between Melanie and Evan in this book. The banter also made the slow burn romance worth the wait, which is a hard thing to accomplish in my opinion. But Nona was really the best part of the book for me. She was absolutely amazing! I wish she was presented for more of the book.
If you are looking for a grumpy / sunshine, fake engagement romance set in a small town then check this one out!
