Entertaining enough, if a little flat. I liked the new Coldmoon character, but would like to have learned more about him than his perfunctory backstory and coffee quirk.

One half star deducted for the last 50 pages or so, which reminded me of the scene in Psycho, where everything is explained in the psychiatrist's office. Too many loose ends tied up in one final conversation.

I really wanted to like this book because I love these authors and this series, but it felt like a watered down version of Pendergast.

It wasn't as exciting or gripping as other books in the series. It's probably an objectively good book but since all I can do is compare to previous novels I didn't enjoy it as much
