I liked the premise and the writing style well enough, but never developed an interest for the characters (especially Mimi). At about the 2/3 point, I skimmed to the end and that was that.
I liked this book a lot, but I wish that more had been resolved at the end with what was going to happen to certain characters. I enjoyed the unique and quirky characters in this book and the messages about being understanding and accepting differences. I found Mimi to be frustrating, annoying, and fascinating, especially as more details about her and her family's past were revealed. I wonder if there will be a sequel - it sure would be interesting to see Frank as a teenager!

I loved Frank so much. This book is very much about how the people we love and surround ourselves with are deeply flawed, but those flaws don't necessarily make them bad for you. Our flaws should fit around each other so that what one person can't do, the other can.

Frank is a memorable character and I guarantee you will fall in love with him. The story is bright and fun, but has serious insight into a cast of characters who don’t quite fit in, and who carry secret hurts.

I didn't care for it. Frank was charming, true, but also very annoying. Alice was dull, Xander was a deadbeat, and Mimi was mean. The writing was reasonable, with engaging descriptions. Too bad the story didn't match. Not for me.
Listened to this. It was a story. But I think I missed the point of it if there was one. There's no "a ha" moment or great revelation.
I spent the beginning wondering if M.M. Banning was a real person.

Despite the fact that Frank does not have an official diagnosis the autism represented in this book is very well written.
