The first book in this series is a quick read that will make you hooked from the start. There are questions from the start that will leave you hanging. If you enjoy academia you’ll definitely enjoy this book! I do wish their had been more info about the school itself, how and why it came into existence, especially since the majority of the book takes place there. This is not necessary to the story at all however, and there is still a lot of world-building.
There is ALOT of bullying, and severe and graphic at that, so if you enjoy this type of book you’ll greatly enjoy this book! I do wish the nicknames varied a bit, using the same one all the time felt a bit much. There is a warning at the beginning of the book about this, which is always appreciated!
The book does not end with a HFN ending, and it ends quick. You’ll definitely want to read the next two books in this series right away!
