Holy hell I literally stayed up all night to finish reading this book knowing good and well I have to work in the morning. I can’t wait to start the next one but I’ll have to. This slow burn leaves you with so many questions and the urge to throttle some people.

Fractured fates right from the start.
What a ride! Rihanna goes from having to run and hide to an Academy setting, not knowing half of what her magic can do or what the pull in her stomach to the different men in her life means.
On top of all the life changes, she remains true to herself no matter how bad the bullying gets. She dishes it right back to Tristan and Spencer, not letting them win. The ones who hurt her the most are Stone and The man in Black, who she finally learns his name in the end.
I love that she's not willing to bow to the popular people and clings to who she is, while trying to figure out the mystery behind her true identity.
It ends on a cliffhanger, and I'm looking forward to diving into the next book.

The series has been surprisingly fun to read. I had previously dnf’d the first book last year, but I saw it recommended in a group and decided to give it another shot.
Some of the stuff is still a bit cringy, but overall I had a lot of fun reading this book. The FMC is pretty resilient and I ended up really liking her. Her roomie was actually great and it definitely was a positive thing about this book. I’m always in search for rh books (or any romance books really) where the fmc had a good support person/system outside of their love interest. This series has definitely delivered on that so far.
When it comes to the guys, they pretty much all sucked with the exception of one. This series has the bully trope element to it, so it’s to be expected that the love interests will initially majorly suck. The pig nicknames, especially coming from her potential future love interests was….. a choice????? The fmc is 20, so while the age gap is something that’s not really for me, I don’t quite mind it.

The plot was only kind of interesting and the unlikeable douchebags that should be fated mates really put me off this story.
