Attempted re-read June 2023: I gave up on page 10 so I think this qualifies as some sort of record. Within the first minute of reading, one of the college-aged MC’s calls a female barista “doll” like he’s a 50s movie gangster and a few pages later the other MC’s female love interest is described as being the “clingiest, bitchiest craziest chick”. Such feminism! If I keep reading I’m sure we’ll find one of the MCs has a dead or exclusively career driven mother to really ensure we hit all the ‘bad female’ tropes.

For the life of me I’m not sure what kept me reading back in 2015 but my taste has definitely changed for the better. So, I’m bailing now before I get even more annoyed with this book than I am now.

I read this in one sitting and it was GLORIOUS! Such a spectacular book. Wes and Jamie had such distinct and amazing voices and the alternating perspectives was a really fantastic way to tell the story.
