Savage Tracker by Maggie Cole is an age gap dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. This is the fifth book in the Mafia Wars series. The book can be read as a standalone but the stories are interconnected.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Selena and Obrecht. The chemistry between them was off the charts. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Unchosen Ruler to be released on September 1, 2021 so I can get Liam and Hailee's story.

Kai and Wen did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you love mafia romances, dark romances, age gap romances, or romantic suspense.

━━ ⋆¸* ★ 3 stars

⋆¸* selena and obetrech are adorable

⋆¸* the patience this man has when it comes to selena’s sexual trauma and discovering what SHE likes

⋆¸* obetretch’s mom has an agenda and she was sticking to it !!

⋆¸* he takes her to jamaica for her birthday and hawaii to get married ? we love this man

⋆¸* i personally feel like we deserved to see more of selena being strong and putting people in their place. she’s a very interesting fmc and i understand she was abused for the entirety of her marriage by a very evil man but obetretch gives her the strength to be strong and to never apologize for her own feelings. just feels like we should’ve gotten her beating ass or something ( her ex husband or obetretch’s )

It’s exactly the kinky smutty time you’d expect, and I appreciated the frank and healthy bdsm-related conversations. The pacing felt off for the beginning and end of the book, and reading this as a standalone was not a great experience, since there were some jokes going over my head and loose ends at the end of the book.

This is one of the best books I’ve read so far. I have often been disappointed at how the concept of bdsm practice is trivialised in many books but this book is finally something that discussed it as it should have been. For someone who had confusions about liking things that their abuser introduced them to, I was really glad with the discussions that happened in this book.

Selena. A woman abused and taken advantage of finally finds her freedom and her new chance at life.

When she shouldn't want another man, Obrecht comes barreling into her life. Tilting it on its axis.

He wants to say 'kneel' as soon as he sees her and she wants to hear him say it.

These two are perfect. He does everything he can to make sure that she knows how much she is cared for. To teach her that what she went through before is not how a woman should be treated. She wasn't loved, she was abused. Obrecht does everything to make sure that she feels nothing but love, adoration, and knows that she is the one that holds all the power.

Selena is able to learn about herself and to grow into who she was always made to be. She was held back with her ex and now, has been given everything she needs to blossom.

They both have exes that hurt them on mental and physical levels. Both at different extremes but still hurt nonetheless. They are able to show each other that you can be truly loved when the right person hands you their soul.

This is a tale of two people trying to find their way again to happiness, they've both had their fair share of pain, loneliness and bad luck. Of course we've got to know Obrecht, the brother of Adrian throughout the series, but he has truly come to life in Savage Tracker. He is a strong, dominant man who doesn't think twice about protecting his family at any cost to him...his dominance prevails him, and he can tell just by one look, how a woman has it in her to kneel at his feet...and the minute he sees Selena for the first time...he knows she is his.
Selena,a young Greek woman with so much hurt and darkness in her life appeared in Kora and Sergey's book, but now we get to see the real her. Her previous relationship/marriage was toxic and it was drummed into her that she was unworthy of everything around her...her submissiveness grew when they met, but as time went on,it became a devastating concept for her...when she first set eyes on Obrecht, all the feelings came back ten fold, and all she wanted to do was sink to her knees for him. Obrecht knew he had to tread carefully, and he slowly taught Selena that her gift of submission to him was a beautiful thing, and not just a given...a rule...a demand. Of course not everything is smooth sailing, and is it ever...with the Ivanov's? Lol.
I was looking forward to Obrecht's and Selena's story the most, and I was completely mesmerised from the first page. I'm chomping at the bit,to see what's coming next!

Obrecht may have just moved up to be my favourite Ivanov boyfriend!

Is he possessive, dominant, strong willed, and sometimes narrow minded? Yes. But he also is sweet, caring, selfless, and receptive!

Selena and Obrecht are introduced throughout the first four books and I could not wait for their story and man did it not disappoint! She is recently divorced from an absolutely horrible man who made her his slave for a decade with no say in her life. The more she lets Obrecht into her heart, the more he understands her and does everything in his power to show her what real love and a true relationship looks like.

- He reaches around my waist and pulls me closer. "The only thing I've ever been sure about is you. There is no end to us. No matter what, this is only our beginning. I submit my heart and soul to you, not just now but forever. Will you marry me?" He opens his hand and holds up the most breathtaking ring I've ever seen.
