A strong four stars. It was cute and entertaining. Witty and humorous, with that sweet spot pacing to boot. I read the first half as life afforded, and then read the other half in an afternoon. It seems like the perfect material for a potential film adaptation as a rom-com.

A cute story about family and relationships. The prose was a bit all over the place for me (I don’t like when we randomly switch between third person characters in the same scene) and it was a bit slow paced overall. Though, there was a satisfying conclusion.

I love a fun literary-themed book. This one was mostly just sweet and a little silly but I also appreciated the thread about the role that anxiety can play in people’s lives. The end wrapped up very quickly and neatly in the last chapter or two with a big bow on it... just what readers of fairy tales love.

I really wanted to like this book, I really did. I went in with very high expectations. And I think my idea of what this book was wasn't very correct. The premise sounded so good to me but... I don't know it wasn't what I wanted.

The charachters and the storyline felt flat to me. I felt ZERO spark in the romantic relationship and honestly I didn't care if they would end up together or not. It felt very instaloveish, I wanted more PINING TINE god damn.

And the family relationships I found... annoying? And pretty unrealistic in the way they where portrayed.

But it was a quick and easy read which I was in need of to balance out Pet Semetary. So it's not like I hate this book or anything, I just didn't feel that Red white and royal blue/The kiss Quotient vibes/Versions of Us vibes that have made my romance reading this year on point.

Entertaining and fun with charming characters.

It felt like (capital-A) Anxiety was the main driver of the conflict, and I just wasn't there for it.
It was fun for sure; a very fun read, but it didn't have anything really to dig your teeth into. And the parts that were in it felt like they just didn't have that much to grab onto.

I’m happy I found this book, which I only picked up because of the title, because “bookish life” really talked to my librarian self. I identified with Nina (of course), as it felt like this book was written specifically for me, or any other introverted book lover for that matter. It was a cute rom-com, with emotional bits and fluffy bits. I enjoyed the author’s pop culture references! I know the plot development isn’t for everyone, but I enjoyed the quirkiness so much, I don’t care, I loved it.
