Iced coffee of books : light, sweet and refreshing.

Another really fun book about Nina who loves books and is a self described introvert. She lives alone, works at a book shop, on a trivia team and has a cat named Phil. She grows up alone with her nanny, her mom travels for work and she never met or even knew who her father was. That is until a lawyer comes to find her to read his will. It took me 30-50 pages to get into it but then it was a page turner. Was a great read!

Fun, quick read. Nina is an introvert who loves books and her quiet, organized life. But her anxiety threatens to overwhelm her when she suddenly discovers a whole family she didn’t know she had and her quiet life is upended. It’s a romcom so you know it all works out in the end.

This was a light romance about a girl who works in a bookstore and a guy who makes bookshelves who both do trivia quiz bowls in LA. The daily to-do list feature was cool as we got a glimpse into Nina's ordinary life, though I felt like her character wasn't always consistent. I would've liked way more scenes with the family beyond stereotypes, though I thought the children characters were done well.

Keeyootsee-wootsee fantasy, but the only chicklit novel I have read with two separate mentions in separate scenes in the 21st century of S.J. Perelman, a long-dead author whom I 'follow' on Goodreads, more than once.
I did like it, despite not being the target reader, for who can resist a smart, sarcastic, anxious, introverted, bookish trivia maven whose Sisyphean labors are found in a Bullet Journal?

I'd mention other things I read in the book, but I don't want the author to know how much I identified with three characters, and how abhorrent a supposedly pleasant, darling character is. Shh.

I rarely give a "beach read" four stars but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Breezy, witty, playful, and yes predictable. I also liked her observations on social media for young adults today. Don't wait for the beach it is a marvelous break from the current reality of our world!

Books, trivia, planners, an anxious introvert with questionable social skills... this was made for me.
