Did not finish. I should know better than to accept a Hoopla recommendation. “You like mysteries! Here’s one by a dudebro who will constantly remind you that even though his protagonist went to an all boys school, he’s totally not gay.”

I didn't think you were, dude, but now I'm starting to wonder. ;) At any rate, the protagonist irritates me 50 minutes into a 12 hour book, and that's just not a good sign.

The premise sounded good, I like the title (and the opening section about the lions), and the descriptions were excellent, but I think this author is just not for me.

Decent mystery novel. It was an easy read and I liked it.

Good, if not necessarily believable, until the end. Really really really lame ending.

When Matthias Glass's best friend vanishes from their boarding school, it changes his life forever. Ten years later, Glass returns to teach as his alma mater not realizing the mess he's going to uncover. SHADOW OF THE LIONS is a beautifully written mystery and a portrait of how childhood friendships shape the person you will always be.
