Co můžete očekávat od této knihy, vám napoví už sama anotace. A je to zároveň i přesně to, co od knihy dostanete. Já ale čekala víc. Ne snad, pokud jde o děj, ten byl obrazný, přímočarý a bezprostřední. Co mi však chybělo, byla atmosféra. I když to byl příběh zajímavý, do děje mě nevtáhl, necítila jsem z něj ani mrazení, ani ono napětí a zoufalství dané situace. Působil na mě ploše, nevýrazně, o nic víc, než běžný dokumentární pořad v TV. Toto dílo je rozhodně bezprostředním vhledem do života rybářů, lovících v oblasti Newfoundlandu, ale nic víc.

Niesamowicie emocjonująca i trzymająca w napięciu powieść o walce z rozszalałym żywiołem, gdzieś między wybrzeżami Grenlandii i Nowej Fundlandii. Przez pierwsze kilkanaście stron mnóstwo hermetycznego nazewnictwa opisującego łódź i jej wyposażenie, co może być zniechęcające, ale polecam czytać, naprawdę warto.
