This was a little tough to get into because the grumpy character really nailed it, and straight insulted Olivia a few times. But I stuck with it and I began to like Asher and I enjoyed their HEA. There was so much to this story that was so well written that I have high hopes for more novels by her.

HUGE FAN OF THIS. Will say that this was way heavier than I anticipated, with a lot of on page discussion and plot centering on workplace harassment, rape culture, assault, and loss of a loved one.

But if you can stomach the darker aspects of this book, the romance is super duper sweet. The hero was a bit of an asshole at times but once you kind of got inside of his character and what he's been through, it makes a little more sense.

Imagine if the hating game were set at Christmastime, and I feel like that's a pretty good summation of how this book feels in terms of plot, and in terms of the dynamics of the romance.

Highly recommend, very much in love with this

(ALSO THE HEROINE IS FROM MY HOMETOWN???)
