I read the essay she took out of parts of this book and enjoyed it - I was happy to have more of her reflection in this longer explain, but it was a little meandering for my attention right now. Lots of really inclusive comments and commentary.

This book made me want to read more of Melissa Febos’ writing! Before this I had only read one essay of hers and had been interested in her other works. I loved the way the personal and the research intertwined, moving out and in. This book widened my perspective on the meaning and experiences of love and sex, especially as they have related to women throughout history. A little slow, but not in a boring, painful way. More like an intentional stroll.
