A very personable and creative look at writing. I have recommended this book already to students and have had students from previous years recommend it to me. This book will inspire the reluctant writer and will encourage the prolific writer. There is something for everyone. While it is primarily targeted to a younger audience, I feel as if even adults could take a few tips from the book. From tips, tricks, activities, and prompts, I was happy to stumble upon this great resource!
I love this book. It really helps with what I want to do. And I really enjoy the way Anne and Ellen make their points.
Amazing!! Not only was this book helpful, but it was also very inspiring. Even though it was written for kids, I highly recommend it for adults too! I borrowed it from my library and loved it so much that I'll be buying my own copy.
This was such a fun read. It's geared towards young writers, but I found that the advice was incredibly solid and absolutely worth reading even for adults. It's been one of my favorite books on writing (and I've read a lot!). I love the specific advice on how to find your voice and write in the style you want to write in. It has practical advice and comforting reminders about learning curves and growth. There are suggestions for finding ideas, expanding thoughts, stylistic choices, and even overcoming writer's block. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Helpful, but many of the sections focus specifically on writing kids books. These principles can be applied elsewhere, but parts of it seem a little thin.
