I didn't expect this book to be as good as it was. I started reading it because it has been on my shelf for years and I didn't want to out grow it. I didn't expect to cry as much as I did either but really! That ending crushed me and then the last chapter just gave me hope. I won't be reading the next series for a while because I have so much to read! But with that ending it is taking all my will power not to buy and read the next series!

I wanted to like it more, but it's definitely written for a younger audience. The relationships are really sappy and the characters are a little too cliche.

I watched the show before reading the books. The show is so much better. I think maybe back in my younger days, I would eat this up. I didn't like the characters very much. They aren't well written. They don't have any background. I just wished for more.

This makes slightly more sense than the other books? The plot really has nothing to do with the show anymore.
Review - Like the earlier books, Midnight was quite poorly written and confusing in places. I felt that L.J. Smith was just writing for the sake of writing, because she had a fan base and an audience to write for. I felt that the story wasn't really going anywhere. The worst one so far in my opinion. There was just too much going on and too many characters introduced, and the ones who were central to the storyline seemed to be shunted onto the sidelines.
