The Lost Symbol

The book was great. For the most part had me on the edge of my seat. The whole book was leading up to this great secret. When the secret was finally told it was more of a letdown. But would still recommend.

Once again, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in Dan Brown's writing. While I'm not a regular reader of suspense/thriller novels (primarily because I find I can't put them down and get no sleep until I finish them!), I really enjoy the quick pace with which this novel progressed. This book truly satisfied my imagination, with it's rapid scene changes and plot twists. I also enjoyed the added layers of mystery he added with the question of Director Sato and whether she should be trusted, as well as the potential significance of the mystery keyword-rich file on the CIA mainframe (I got a true chuckle out of that one).

I also truly enjoyed the exploration of Noetic Science - I was fascinated to learn that a true branch of science is working to, essentially, quantify aspects of faith.

Angels & Demons remains my favorite of Dan Brown's books, but The Lost Symbol has bumped The DaVinci Code for the #2 spot.

I don't particularly like Brown's writing. he's very Reader's Digest a lot of the times. however, he can tell a hell of a story and the religious\historical aspects of his novels do fascinate me. overall, a good in between-the-heavier-topics book.

I really love Dan Brown’s books. This is possibly my favorite, because I LOVE DC so much. It’s one of my favorite cities, so being taken on a wild ride through places and sights that I’ve actually visited is always a joy. It adds something extra!

Dan Brown did it again with this exhilarating tale of the mystics of the human mind. I found the infamous mysticism around on which the book was based on to be so alluring, with the right amount of information- dumps, mystery and grand reveals for this to be entirely unputdownable. It was truly illuminating, how the plot, the characterization and even the pacing; led this to be the perfect adrenaline- induced thriller, whilst also being so thought- provoking.
