This was one of those tell and not show stories. I was bored in the beginning all of the dramatic scenes were summarized in past tense. Their first night together, Winter taking the pregnancy test, how she told Theo, it was all just shoved into like a couple chapters and I felt like I missed the most dramatic part of the book. Not my favorite writing style.
funny

I think the fact this book evolves around a baby makes me not like it much

First 5 Star Read of 2024 goes to a contemporary romance (who is SHE!!!)

This book had everything I have been craving from The Chestnut Springs series. I absolutely adored the time Elsie Silver took to build Winter and Theo's emotional connection — it sooo paid off for all the smut later.

I love Winter. My heart aches for her. Theo is sensitive AND sexy and a dreamboat. They honestly remind me of Nesta and Cassian (iykyk). I also loved how well they balanced each other out.

Also. I love how Winter and Summer's relationship redeveloped and how people got to understand Winter a bit more. (Again, Feyre and NESTA vibes!!!!) And Winter + Sloane > Willa + Summer. There. I said it.

This book made me cry (multiple times) and I loved it so much I went out and bought a copy halfway through. Hands down my favorite book in the series. So so good.

I’m absolutely loving this series so far! This time, we got the POV from Winter and Theo, and what a whirlwind story it was! I was a bit unsure about Winter in the previous books, but she absolutely redeemed herself in this one. And what a man Theo Silva is! Honestly, these cowboys are on another level!

I’m so close to finishing this series with only one book left, and I don’t want it to end!

Winter leaves her past life and ex-husband behind and moves to Chestnut Springs, hoping to make this new life work and break free from her cold-hearted persona. It was refreshing to see Winter become her own person and mend relationships. She forms a close bond with her sister Summer, putting their past behind them. Winter’s wishes eventually come true, opening up a whole new future for her.
