Regency romance is IN, people, and I’m here for it.
This lovely little novel is a quick read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Though I do agree with the criticism that the plot and the characters are a bit “basic” and even predictable at times, the story is so cute and satisfying that I didn’t mind. I picked it up because of how much I enjoyed Bridgerton, and the fact Mr. Malcom’s List is coming out as a movie this year! I absolutely adore film adaptations of books.

Lack of characterization for Malcolm character was so significant I was left totally confused by their attachment.

I really enjoyed the general style of her writing! However I wish there was a bit more social commentary in this considering it’s a regency era fiction

For the first half of this book I was enjoying the story and was lucking forward to Mr Malcolm getting a taste of his own medicine, so to speak. But unfortunately he didn't. Honestly, he was a very arrogant and annoying MMC and I felt kind of bad for Selina.
I was originally thinking this was going to be a solid 3 stars but it just went downhill. Overall it was simply okay and I probably wouldn't recommend it.

Graphic: Alcohol and Toxic friendship
Moderate: Misogyny
Minor: Classism and Sexual content

TL;DR: A woman finds "true love" with a man who deems her unworthy based on her relations. The idea of setting standards for your love(r) is criticized because the person with the standards wrote them down.
I struggled with this book because some of the resolutions felt convenient. It wasn't exactly insta-love, but it was pretty close. Overall, it felt like the characters should be more prudish (not allowing themselves to be kissed "passionately") or significantly less prudish (not caring that the gentleman was going to be in their room with the door open).
