Since a lot of the critique and elements are repeated in this book as well, I felt no need to write another piece for the same.

Halo: Fall of Reach the original novel by Eric Nylund, had a lot of memorable elements which added to the lore and backstory of characters such as a Commander Keyes, Blue Team, and of course Master Chief. It had shown how desperate humanity was against an unrelenting enemy, who over gunned, outnumbered and out teched them.

UNSC and the Humanity were holding on by the skin of their teeth, thanks to secrecy provided by the Cole Protocol, the ingenuity, resourcefulness and superior tactics of its commanders, and the resilience of their ground forces, spearheaded by the Spartan-II. But reach presented humanity with it's most devastating failure. Paraphrasing from the novel:

"We were not merely decimated, that would imply we lost one out of every ten ships. But here, for every ship which managed to limp away from the battlefield we lost 10 good ones."

The comic, despite having the visual freedom, fails to catch the gravity of this increasingly deteriorating scenario, doesn't give ample screen-time for important character deaths, or in many cases completely omits those parts of the story which made it engaging.
