Borderline 3 and 4 star for me, but I was so stupidly happy to be in this world again that the grin on my face pushed me to the 4 stars.
I really enjoy the Atticus point of view, as that's how we learnt the world. Granuaile I can understand, but I am not a huge fan of Owen's addition. I liked his storyline, don't get me wrong. But of the three characters I find him weakest.
The short story before this should have been included in this book, and while it says you need some context and to find the short story, most of it is covered in the book. The what is, the how and why is not. But it's a pain in the arse to find the book, you can ride it out and be annoyed like me but from the different angle.
There are some interesting foreshadowing set up in this book. I enjoyed the big bad show down. Granuaile proves herself to be a forced to be reckoned with. I'll be interested in how it all concludes. I must say that as clunky as this series can feel at times, particularly in the last couple of books, I will miss knowing there are more Iron Druid books to read.

Mr. Hearne is still doing a great job with the series - Atticus is dropping geeky references to Start Wars while staking vampires. while this book does wrap up some long-running plot threads, it's not the last in the series.

Luke Daniels does such a great job narrating Kevin Hearne's books. His voices are just perfect. Tone, inflections, expressions, he nails em.
As a story this was a good one moving the parallel stories of the three druids along on each of their paths as well as together. This set up some interesting possibilities for future stories for each of them not just the Iron Druid.
Looking forward as always to continuing their stories.

I’m a little sad that this is the penultimate book in the chronicles. I have been thoroughly enjoying the adventures, especially Oberon.

I keep loving this series so much, and I have to say that Luke Daniels does a fantastic job at narrating. That was especially evident in Staked, as both Granuaile and Owen narrate chapters as well. Of course, Oberon and Orla are still favorites of mine as well.
The action was just as break-neck as I've gotten used to, and I truly enjoyed the fact that there were more story arcs.
