I thought it was well thought out and clever but I struggled to make an emotional attachment to any of the characters. Found the technical bits a bit boring e.g the airplanes.
It was a bit slow in the beginning but it is so worth it to push through. This book was truly beautiful.
Slow at first, but I'm so glad I stayed with it. Interesting characters and twist and turns you don't see coming. The author does a fantastic job of tying all the threads together at the end. Loved it.
This was the first audio book I got on Audible and at first I couldn't get into it. Couldn't pay attention. Now that I'm driving more I decided to give it another go. And thank god I did. This book is incredible!
I recommend listening to it if that's your thing. Morven Christie and Lucy Gaskell do an amazing job narrating! Because of the format of the book, it being a first hand account through writing and journal entries, it makes the story come to life that much more. It's a beautiful tale of friendship and bravery that I highly recommend.

I loved this story, especially once we got to the second half! The characters were smart and heartfelt. I loved the way the story was revealed to the reader, and how new information kept changing the way we saw what had come before.

But I hope you kept reading through the not so interesting parts because, OH BOY, this book is amazing.
Once you get to Maddie's part, your stomach will drop, your eyes will water, and then you will cry. (VERY LOUDLY.)
