It's more like a 3.5 or so.

short comment on The Moons of Jupiter, as I left short comments on the other short stories: started with a sort of morbidly fascinating vibe, and it seemed like the main character was a bit paranoid. That seemed to go away after a bit, and once again, the ending made no sense to me.

In general: very few short stories stood out to me. Overall, I didn't think there was much solid conclusion or a strong climax/conflict in the stories, so I was often left a bit confused.

The author's writing is very simple and straightforward -- not that that's bad! -- and a pretty nice vocabulary.

4.5

Moons of Jupiter by Alice Munro (1994)

Short story collections are the most difficult to rate. I liked some very much, some were meh. I definitely like Alice Munro a lot and will get back to her.
reflective sad tense slow-paced

Like cuddling up with an old friend who has sweet, sensitive, observant stories to tell...

Eh, I'm sure that the problem is with me, what with her being a Nobel prize winner and all. I just found the stories not very engaging. I get that it is about character development but what good is developing them if they don't do anything?
