I really enjoyed this book, it’s so complex but well told and I’m excited to finish the series, but it’s a long read so it’ll take me a bit haha.

So many thoughts. I liked the last 150-200pp but struggled earlier.

I thought this book was stunning! It took me a long time to get through it but it was definitely worth it. Even though it is a long book, it is well paced and didn't feel that it dragged (but the mammoth size of the book does make it feel like it is a slow read) and as I was nearing the end, I didn't want it to finish.

I thought most of the way through whilst I was reading that I would take a break from Sanderson when I finished this (so far this year I have read Mistborn 1-6, Elantris and Warbreaker)

I saw someone on Reddit describe this book as a 1,000-page prologue, and it seems a fair assessment to me. It was an increeedibly long read, and at times I really wished the book could have been paired down to only the primary characters in the Shattered Plains. But having finished it, seen that amazing ending and now having the full groundwork laid out for what we’re actually doing in this series, I can see how every perspective and description was necessary, and I do love all of the characters at play. I am very excited to read the rest of the series (after a break, lol).
