What a fantastic book. It starts off with a bang, slows down for some character development and then picks up ten-fold. This author really knows how to write tense/exciting scenes (both action and dialogue). I was constantly on the edge of my seat.

If you're on the fence about reading this book bc of the length, just read it! I didn't want it to end, so I'm glad there's 4 more in the series. It will take a while to finish, but honestly, it was nice to just take my time, really immerse myself into the world and get to know the characters.

If you're new to fantasy, don't be discouraged if you feel confused by the world, especially in the beginning. I promise the world comes together throughout the book and makes sense. Some things will still be unanswered but it's meant to be for now. I thought the author did a great job weaving the world building throughout the story through multiple characters' eyes rather than just drowning you in exposition.

I don't know why I waited so long to start the Stormlight Archive. Absolute banger. Any fantasy buff has to rocket this to the top of their TBR list.

A pressure cooker kind of book. Slow, slow, slow start. But once it gets going, I am IN.
