Wonderfully work, but I will definitely have to read this two or three times before I fully process everything... great theoretical work and a great addition to this field of study

Incredibly informative and thought provoking, dense and academic, a deeply researched project.

Brilliant, engrossing, and powerful exploration of Atlantic slavery and its connection to capitalism. Just unbelievably insightful and poetic. Highly recommended for anyone.

This book had very interesting, clearly well-researched information, and well put-together arguments! It was just very slow to get through and I felt like some of this could've been said in fewer (and smaller) words, for me at least.

I read this book for a class. I was unimpressed by the overly academic writing style. I felt that it obfuscated rather than illuminated her points. It is very possible that I'm missing something about why she made that choice. I look forward to discussing the book in class to see what others have to say about it.

The subject matter is very difficult. It's possible the writing style gave the author some needed distance from it.
