About a third of these I didn't care for (only one or two I actively disliked, mostly the narration or subject just didn't vibe with me), another third that were pretty notable, and the last third that were also good but not favs. So, pretty goof as far as short story collections go, and the baseline queer and punkness of everything made it all the better.

This book of shorts has teeth. Sonetimes there is no reason, only the rhyme. Sometimes there is. Some of these stories are going to sit with me. There's definitely some that I will have to go back to before the year is over.

A collection of mostly urban fantasy, but also some sci fi and dark fantasy. A lot of the stories pleasantly surprised me with how the characters did and said unexpected things. After you've read a lot, it's easy to feel like there is nothing new, but these are.

Read this because I love the authors podcast but don’t normally enjoy short stories. However, I am very glad I did ready it since it was interesting and thought provoking and lovely. I highly recommend to anyone looking for short stories with some fantasy and some dystopian(ish) stories and much queer representation.

This book takes your hand with a smile and leads you into a dark forest and shows you a lake that reflects all the faults of humanity and also the beauties of it. This book is weird. This book is the most thought provoking thing I’ve ever read. I can’t decide if I should give this book to my English teacher or not. I am horrified with how enthralled I am with some of these terrible worlds and how comforted I feel by them. I hope all and none of this comes to pass. I think my head would have actually exploded if I read this while high. 10/10 would recommend.
