Wow, when I read people saying act 4 was so heartbreaking and traumatising I didn't really believe it was going to be so hard but wow, just give my poor baby Xie Lian a break, he has been in constant pain. Going just through one or two of those things would have left me lifeless forever yet he still grows out of it. It's fascinating.

That moment when it's all in caps repeating the same words in that chapter left me pondering about life for a few hours wjfjskjrw I have also grown to appreciate much more Fengxin's character out of his former friends and servants. You did your best, boy *hugs all of the main cast because they truly need a big one*

Well, that was a whirlwind.
Loved the cave of 10000 gods arc at the end of book 3.
Book 4 was even more heartbreaking than expected. I'm distraught.

Vol. 7, here we go!

I would say this book is the heaviest yet in the series, but manages to still leave the reader with hope. The final pieces of this giant puzzle are coming together at long last, and we finally get to know the last piece of Xie Lian’s tortured past, letting us understand what drove him to (and redeemed him from) these actions that had seemed incongruous from his present self.

This book was incredible, but gosh, was it painful. I think I underestimated how triggering and brutal certain parts of this book would be. It hurt so much to see everything Xie Lian went through, but I’m also glad he was able to pull through and become the kind and wonderful person he is. I can only hope that he gets the happy ending he deserves.

The book starts off with stalker-thriller energy.
Hua Cheng's pottery barn is unveiled by Mu Qing and Feng Xing. Xie Lian is just blushing and going "ooooh I have a fan." the whole time hehe.

The later 2/3 of the book goes over
The white-clothed Calamity, White No-Face, Wuming, and Xie Lian's second ascension.

Help me
Help me, help me, help me.
Help me, help me, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help, help me!
It hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts...it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS!
Why can't I die?
WHY CAN'T I DIE?!
page 256

The book concludes with the
creation of Ruoye
,
rise of the white-clothed Calamity
and the
death of Wuming.
