4.5 stars rounded up to 5

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars! This little book took me by surprise. I have to admit I requested this ARC from netgalley partly because of how great I think the cover is, but once you get past that, this is an enjoyable read about redemption, love, and friendship. The female main character, Brynn, is a morning news newscaster putting on a persona that isn’t exactly her own. She ultimately has to face this head-on after a mishap, which results in her confronting her past and how it may intertwine to influence her future in the industry. Along the way there is romance and the grumpy-sunshine trope plays a big role. I felt like both characters were a bit of both grumpy and sunshine, which was a good spin on the trope. My favorite part of the book was the scenery and small town itself, as well as its townspeople. A snowy mountain town will forever be my weakness. Overall, I really enjoyed this book but it did take me about 40% of reading to get fully invested. I feel the two main characters were developed well but I’d love more from the surrounding cast. I do wish the ending wasn’t so quickly wrapped because I was left wanting more, but maybe there will be a sequel I’d gladly pick up! I’m happy to have read this one and think this would be a fun read for anyone!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to netgalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this eARC

This is a tough one for me - it was well written, had good pacing, and the overall concept was great.

The hard part was that FMC was wholly unlikeable, and I didn’t buy the romance or attraction. It was purely proximity and nothing else. Just because two folks have/had public facing careers, are emotionally damaged, and are in the same town doesn’t mean they’re going to be set up for a happily ever after. I just don’t buy it.

To be a reporter in war zones, MMC would have to be much more emotionally mature than FMC ever showed herself to be. She acted like a 16 year old girl lashing out nearly the entire book. It just didn’t work for me.

I will give this author another try though.

Thank you NetGalley and Zondervan Audio for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

3.5 ⭐️ Second half was so much better than the first half, so I’m glad I stuck around.

Turner is a new author to me. She writes super funny rom coms. This one was also funny, but the plot moved a little too slowly in some places and WAY too fast in others. I thought Brynn's character was better developed than Sebastian's. It was a fun plane read.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley--all opinions are my own.

The author did a good job of showing how our perceived ideas of past events are often skewed compared to what it was really like. It was refreshing to see redemption for the main character and a happy ending.

Was so delighted to find this new realize by Bethany on Hoopla. It was a great enemies to lovers!

cute but needed some spice!!

Very cute story but there’s zero spice so if you’re looking for things to get hot and heavy, keep scrolling. But if you just like a feel good romance then this is going to be one you’ll love!
funny lighthearted medium-paced
