“I do believe that one should always keep a sword handy when attending a clown opera...”
When I started this book I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know the author, but the plot seemed like something I would like. So I decided to give it a chance. And I'm glad that I did. This is an amusing and heartfelt story about grief and starting over. With a side of kink. The characters are funny and well-developed. The story is also very well developed, if not a bit cliché (but I like clichés, sue me).
However, I have to admit that, at first, I was a little skeptical. I think that, in the beginning, the pace is a bit wonky and it affected my reading experience. However, then, the pace finds its rhythm.
Overall, I do recommend this book, and I certainly will read the second book in this series.
