I did enjoy and finish the book out. I unfortunately figured out who the unsub was quite early on and another thing that was built up was definitely not as surprising as I thought it should be?

It was a bit slow in the beginning but then picked up. There was good build up to the reveal of the killer, which I didn’t see coming. Karen Rose is such a great suspense writer. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Good and interesting read
Having read some of the Chicago series before it was nice to get an understanding of Abe and Mia. It was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to fans of her books and crime fans in general

This was romance and suspense from the get go. Abe and Kristen really did go through hell to eventually get their HEA.
What do you do when a vigilante kills off perpetrators that got off scott free and was roaming the streets? For Kristen it was horrifying. She was blamed for the perps deaths. She was hated by victims who were let down by the legal system and she was unsafe and needed protection. None other than detective Abe Reagan to the rescue. Abe moved to homicide division, gets placed on the case of the vigilante killer and serves as protector to ASA Kristen Mayhew.
This was a slow burn romance. And constant chase from beginning to end. Clues dropped here and there. But the killer we didn’t see coming until the end.
This author always delivers with a little bit of everything and that’s why I enjoy her books. I’m able to swoon a little, play detective and get the thrill of the figuring out who the killer is.

Yet another great Karen Rose novel. Her characters have so much depth and can connect on so many levels that you really find yourself cheering for them. As always, there is suspense, character building and love (parents watch out). I'm so glad I've only read a handful of these so that there are more KR novels to come.

The plot was definitely interesting and I didn’t see that ending coming. The romance part in this one put me off though, I wasn’t really feeling the chemistry between the characters.
