Tessa Dare currently has me in a chokehold, I can’t seem to stop reading her books. I love the writing style and the humor she infuses and how each of her female characters is always the heroine in their own way. This little novella though was a little bit difficult perhaps because I found the male character’s affections quite unbelievable. I didn’t trust his spy story one bit and not even his repeated promises of affection convinced me. I always felt he was using violet and he was selfish and would disappear under the slightest provocation. Perhaps it was the length of the story or just simply the character itself but sorry, it wasn’t it for me. 3 stars only because it’s Tessa Dare
