War of the Worlds meets The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Zany brainy fun.
Am I better for reading it?
Nah.
Did I have fun?
Yeah.

I would recommend The Automatic Detective over this one.
Interestingly, there is something about his style which makes it non-compelling and consequently I read them very slowly.
