Me gustaron.

Beautiful, tragic, terrifying. Best to read after a particularly bad conversation with your father.
I found this a bit overwrought and it’s a real father issues fantasia…..the third act exorcism was odd—he’s brought you to a psychic climax of fear and grief and then suddenly the ghostbusters are there? Weirdly paced and edited.
But! I like Bret Easton Ellis and this didn’t change that.

A writer who is named Bret Easton Ellis puts to rest some ghosts, a novel written by Bret Easton Ellis.
More of a metafiction-y tale than horror, although there are some nice haunted-house sequences. Is it real or isn't it? I feel like soneone challenged the author to think of the most horrific thing he could think of, and he said, "Me, married, and trying to be a sober, responsible parent." It started out as a joke, then caught his imagination. It would be bad--but why, exactly? The rest of that book tries to answer the question. At least, that's my theory.
I liked this but found it predictable, like someone in therapy who makes a breakthough realization that everyone else has seen all along. So I didn't find it scary or tense. But probably a lot of people will; there are definitely some clever bits.
Recommended for horror fans looking for something a bit different.

My first encounter with BEE. Prolly not the best book to start with, but I still enjoyed it. I will most likely get around to reading American Psycho in the relatively near future. I read this book because I had heard that it loosely inspired much of Porcupine Tree's album Fear of a Blank Planet, a band that I love.
