This books allows us to see into the lives of beloved side characters from the previous Bergman books and get to know more about what is going on between Aiden and Freya, the oldest Bergman sibling, after ten years of marriage. We watch as the couple tries to save face and prevent their family from seeing how much they are struggling with their attempts to conceive, miscommunication, and the anxiety that Aiden is trying desperately to survive every day. Aiden is also forced to face the trauma's of growing up in poverty and the unhealthy coping strategies he has developed as a result. Will these two find their way back to each other, through their meddling siblings and the pressures of married life? While this wasn't my favourite addition to this series I appreciated the scenes where we saw the family interacting and would definitely recommend it to fans of the series and/or those who love marriage-in-trouble romances. I gave this one a 4.5 and have rounded it up to a 5.

This whole series has my whole heart, and I fall in love with the Bergman family a little bit more with each story. What a beautiful, and at times painfully accurate, portrayal of long term relationships.
“People whose love lasts, whose love grows and endures, choose each other in the unhappily ever after, the dark moments, not just the dazzling ones.”
