One of the most heartwarming stories I have read in a long time. This is sweet and touching and very needed in this current world!
Take the first book of the Miss. Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, put it from an adults point of view, make it gay, and give the characters a little more depth and you got The House in the Cerulean Sea.
It was a fun read that I may re-read one day. I was thrown off by the reviews that I read before finishing the book. There were quite a few books that said the book was heartbreaking (on Goodreads and TikTok) so I was expecting the book to DESTROY ME. The ending was a little bit of a let down when everything happened as I would have expected without any devastating twists. That being said, that’s more of a fault of my expectations than the actual book.
TLDR- It’s gay and it slaps
