I probably would have enjoyed this book quite a lot, but the fact that it's massively based on The 60s Scoop is just too gross to read it and think about anything else. The idea that 'love and kindness saves the day' regarding white supremacy and racism is truly the most out of touch thing I've ever read.

how this man decided that an event that stole native children out of their homes, that led to the residential schools, one of which had 215 children buried underneath, should inspire a fluffy found family romance, is truly beyond me. only a white guy could possibly make this jump.

Мила історія, проте по силі відгуків в соц мережах, я очікувала набагато більшого. Історія була досить прямолінійна, без якихось складних заворотів. Нагадувала мені часом трохи X-men-ів, але я все очікувала, коли з'являться хоч якісь представники мутацій, які б не мали зовнішнього вираження, але так і не дочекалася. За "queer representation" плюсик. Думаю історія буде більш доречною для прочитання у підлітковому віці.
