I had to re-read this after the Netflix movie came out (which is also ⚡️METAL⚡️ as hell), and it still holds up. Art is kinetic and fluid, the story is somehow simultaneously goofy and emotive and poignant and the characterisation is on point. Sure, the pacing can be odd, but such are webcomics. ND Stevenson, well done dude you cooked with this one.

Nuanced and uncompromising in its portrayal of trauma after discrimination, it still serves as a cute and heartfelt fantasy adventure with lovely character building and a mature narrative.

My only note is that Stevenson should not have included skin-walkers, since Native folks have been pretty adamant that they don't want non-Natives using that lore.

Otherwise, I really enjoyed it!

Initial Response
Well...that was pretty awesome.

High Lights
- This needs to be said...Nimona and Blackheart's relationship is SO. AMAZINGLY. GOOD. I LOVED it. Blackheart is soooo cool and Nimona is...well, she's herself, I suppose. XD
- It's a GRAPHIC NOVEL. I loooove graphic novels.
- The whole shapeshifter idea was really cool.
- I really just loved the feel of this book, you know? It's one of those books where you're reading it and you're just like...this is so FUN!
- Also, Doctor Blitzmeyer is awesome. Yeah.

Low Lights
- I had a few minor issues with this book.
- One, being the mild violence portrayed.
Which makes sense, since...Nimona is actually a...monster-thing and all...
I'm just really squeamish about that kinda stuff.
- There were a few swears, but nothing horrible.

Conclusion
It was a really fun, riveting read! There were a few parts I didn't agree with, which knocks off half a star, but all in all, it was a fun, quick read!
