While Anti-Venom is a novella it doesn’t tone down the action and angst rather it compacts it all into a short sixty pages leading to one drama-packed book. New to me author, Ashley Lane drew me in with her dynamic and engaging writing style and intriguing characters.

Anti-Venom is start of a new series, Viper MC, and it sets the tone with a gritty novella that deals with complicated darker issues. Ivy and Theo were childhood sweethearts but their love imploded the day his father the VP of the Iron Reapers MC was gunned down. Theo fled in the night fearing his anger would bleed into Ivy but she had enough of her own, in time turning into ‘Poison’ Ivy and stepping into his father’s role as VP and her father’s right hand. Anti-Venom is set ten years after Theo left and he has returned with the hope to make things right with Ivy. Theo is now the Prez of the Viper MC but has not taken into account how much the years have caused them to change. This was a fast-paced MC romance, filled with high tension and steam. There were a number of characters introduced including those from the author’s existing series Heaven’s Guardians MC which looks like another amazing series to add to my tbr.

Anti-Venom was a great quick read that captured your attention from the first line and did not release you until the end. I enjoyed the gritty topics that surrounded the MC clubs and the steamy second chance nature of Ivy & Theo’s romance. Definitely add this author to your list if you are a MC romance fan.

This was recommended at the end of Bullet and Holly's book if you wanted to learn more about Holly. Holly's backstory makes a lot more sense now, although i think this should be listed as a like 2.5 novella in the Heaven's Guardians series as it directly links the series and provides a much need backstory to Bullet and Holly's meeting/romance. Ivy was awesome and i hope to read more about her in future books.
