Found this through kindle unlimited and from the cover I assumed they were gymnasts but they are actually tug of rope was super funny to me.
—spoilers—
Also Gabriel being the captain the previous year, the team losing and getting second place and then in the new term he SWAPS schools to join the first place team over losing at tug of rope.
Oh my god, when I figured that out I found that so fucking funny. Dude has such a fragile ego he lost the championship and swapped schools to the team he lost to

I was drawn to this series from seeing a black girl on the cover, and went into reading it with moderately high hopes. the story follows Dominic, and Nessa two friends who go to a school who's known for tug-a-war? So far it seems like a regular high school story, nothing special but its a fun read when you're bored.
