To begin, Take Me On is the fourth book in the Pushing the Limits series. I haven’t read all the books in the series, but that’s ok because the series is more of a collection of novels that share the same world than it is sequels to a story. I have read Dare You To though, which is just as fantastic as this book.

I really enjoyed Take Me On because it’s different from the average teen romance story. Take Me On is darker because both protagonists, Haley and West, have to deal with their dysfunctional families, inner demons, and whatever budding feelings that are developing for the other. To me, Take Me On is more realistic than most teen romance stories because Haley and West are dealing with big issues that people coming from a similar background also face; their problems are bigger than best friends having a crush on the same person. Yes, there are moments when they put themselves into these difficult situations and you want to mad at them, but it doesn’t take away from the emotional roller coaster the story takes you on, which makes Haley and West similar and relatable.

In this story, Haley and West aren’t just being together. They growing into adults and figuring out who they are, which I don’t see often in other romance books. Sure, they have their moments when they’re so wrapped up in each other that it seems like they’ve forgotten about their problems, but they always return to reality and drive home the idea that people can persevere through the tough times and that real love can survive through the tough times.

Just to reiterate myself, I loved Take Me On and anyone who enjoys a darker romance should read it. Plus, if you enjoy any of the books in this series, you should also try [b:Perfect Chemistry|4268157|Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1)|Simone Elkeles|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1403424645s/4268157.jpg|4315675], which is dark romance trilogy following three brothers.

Hailey promised herself that she would never fight or step into the ring again despite being a kickboxing champion. But West, a guy who helped her one night, accepted a fight in her honor and she knows that West won't have any chance unless she trains him. They promised to keep the relationship strictly platonic, but as they spend more time together, their attraction towards each other grows as well.

Take Me On was a book that I definitely enjoyed. Despite its many pages, I was able to read it in a flash. It was definitely better than Crash Into You, but nothing beats Dare You To. I loved how connected I felt to characters, despite never having have experienced what they were experiencing.

Although West and Hailey's story was really great, I kind of miss the first two books' focus on not just the romance and the shitty things, but also on how to appreciate life more. Neverheless, Take Me On is still one of the good ones and I was able to enjoy it tremendously.

Katie McGarry has written yet another masterpiece, and I can't wait to read more of what she has in store for this year! I can't wait to get to know the other characters more, especially Abby!

West révén kicsit árnyaltabb képet kaphatunk a Young család belső dinamikájáról, s ismét helyére kerül jó pár kirakós darab, s érthetőbbé válik, miért is annyira elcseszettek ezek a gazdagok.

Nice quick read. Katie McGarry is a writer whose books I’d recommend to any teenager in high-school whether they are struggling with mental health or other issues. She’s definitely a writers that gives the girls back their strength that they lost and Take Me On is a good example of that.

When I read this, I thought, "West, you should learn to appreciate shit that you have." Ugh. I don't know if other people love West but I really think he's a very self-centered person. And I hate self-centered heroes most of the time. Especially when they try to make you understand that their life is full of sorrow and angst and whatever the hell their issues are.

I am never disappointed by Katie McGarry’s books and Take Me On was no exception. I really loved this story and characters and could not put this one down until I found out what happened to everyone.

I will begin with the fact that I loved Haley. She is tough and loyal but it is very clear she is struggling. She and her family have hit a rough time and she is trying to put on a good face and just get through but things just seem to be getting worse. I think one of the things that frustrated me the most about Haley was her unwillingness to ask for help. Her family wanted to be there for her but she refused to ask for it. With that said, I completely understood her reasoning and what she was doing.

One night as she was on her way home, she is almost run over by West. Let me interject here that I did not read book 3 (don’t judge me about it) so while some of you may already have some feelings about him, I went into this one with no predetermined feelings about him. I don’t know if this is good or bad but when I mentioned him to my sister, she immediately said…”Oh, I didn’t like him.” Whereas I was all “I love him!!” Anyway, I did really love him. While I found out what happened with him in book 3, I thought not knowing, gave me a bit of a different view than others may have of him. Mostly because when I was introduced to him, it was clear he was struggling with what he was going to do as well as the role he played in his sister’s accident. He truly loves his family but he doesn’t really know how he fits in.

As punishment for getting expelled for fighting, West’s dad enrolls him in the public school and this is where West and Haley start to build a friendship and then find that they both want more than that. Along the way, they find out more about themselves and each other and they also find themselves in a situation where Haley is training West to fight her ex-boyfriend’s little brother in order to protect Haley’s brother and cousin.

I really liked the secondary characters in this story and have high hopes that we will see a few of them again in some of the upcoming books. Jax was one of my favorites and I also love Abby. McGarry always does such a wonderful job of creating these fascinating characters (main or secondary) and although I know neither of them would accept it, I would just like to give them both hugs.

Definitely consider reading these books if you haven’t done so yet. I can't give everything about this story away but know that there is plenty of angst, swoon, and action to keep you engrossed in this story. I always find myself pulled into the lives of these complex characters and stories. Ultimately, that is what makes me unable to put the book down until I reach the end. If you like the other books in this series, I have a feeling you will definitely enjoy this one as well.

Thank you to Netgalley & Harlequin Teen for the review copy.

I freaking loved this book. This series have really grown on me, and it still is getting better and better. After reading Crash Into You, my expectations were very high, but this book did all but disappoint me. I loved every second of it, there was not a single boring moment. The connection between West and Haley went really deep and I loved how the story was not only about their love, but also about finding a home and fighting for themselves. I can't wait 'till we get to read about Noah and Echo again, though I would like to read Abby's story too.

There could be possible spoilers in this. You've been warned :)

I think the majority of this review will be about the series as a whole, but I'll start with this book.....

So I went into this wanting to love it. I loved the third book in this series because it was about my favorite character so I was hoping I'd have just as much love for this one. Honestly, I barely got through this one. It started out so freaking slow and it took me forever to get through the first 300 pages. 300 is about the point where it got interesting.

I loved West as a character. In the last book, he was played off as this womanizing douche and when I realized this book was about him, I wasn't excited. At all. But I loved his story from the beginning. It showed him in a whole new light. And the character development. Wow. He changed into someone even better. Some things did irritate me about him, but for the most part, I really liked him.

Haley on the other hand. I could relate to her in some aspects, and in others she was just annoying. I don't really have much to say about her because she was so blah!

The plot, I loved and hated. I feel like it was so different than most books because it showed the financial problems as well as rich problems. It was really cool how she managed to make both their worlds collide and make it believable. On the other hand, the first 60% of the book just seemed like filler material. I think this great story got lost in this long drawn out storyline that barely kept my attention. This is one of those books that could have been a novella and been so much better. I never say that about books, but I feel like she got so lost writing this and just trying to make it into a novel.

The series overall I think barely deserves 3 stars. I was recommended this by a B&N employee with enthusiasm about how great this series was. I'm still confused as to why she thinks that, but I guess that's why there are so many books out there. There's some for everyone.

The main thing I liked was that every book was a different story but with characters from other books. It was really cool to read all these different stories but still have the old characters that you grow to love.

The first book wasn't memorable. I remember liking it, but it hasn't been that long since I read it and can't remember a thing. That says a lot...

The second one was meh. I didn't like the main characters. Ryan was so one dimensional and Beth just complained about everything. I liked them both more towards the end of the book, but I struggled a lot with that one.

The third I loved. It was Isaiah's story, and he had been my favorite character since the first book. He was just a side character in the first two but still definitely my favorite. I loved his story and Rachel. She had struggles that I've never thought about, and it was really cool seeing her work through them. She was a great main character, as was Isaiah.

I think I have a love/hate relationship with these books. Every. Single. Book. Was so boring for at least the first 150 pages. There was no story in there and I'm assuming she was trying to do character building but failed at it. Some parts were decent, but most were just meh. About halfway through each book, though, is when the story comes alive. It's like all of a sudden, the fog lifts and the story started being told. I was so hooked from this point in these books that i couldn't put them down. I just wish the entirety of these books were like this.

I really believe Katie McGarry is a fantastic author. Once she really delves into the story, the books become amazing. The characters become relatable. The last half of these books I think are definitely 5 star worthy. Just not the first half.

Overall rating for the entire series: 3 stars
