I adored this book! It was the perfect level of sweet with great character development, growth, and depth. The pining tension and rivalry were perfect for this slow burn. 🔥

Ran through this in one sitting and shed a happy tear at the end 🥹

This was my second sapphic read (I’m not counting The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo), and I have mixed feelings about it. The story took a while to really get going and I actually considered DNFing it early on but I’m glad I stuck with it, because the romance that eventually unfolds is sweet and well-developed. A lovely story overall.

Despite a slow start and a few minor gripes, I adored this book. It's exactly what I'd want with a queer rivals to lovers romance. I loved both characters as individuals and as a couple, something that cannot be said for a lot of romance. I found both of them to be flawed but amazing nevertheless. None of the side characters have much depth, but that's okay. I think the amount of effort put into the main characters more than made up for it.
This book also had the perfect utilization of the "third act miscommunication". I hate that trope, but it's in almost every romance so I need to let it slide. Here, however, it does what most fail to do. It's a culmination of both of their character arcs when they respond as flawed people. I didn't see the hand of the author the way I normally do. It was also pretty short, and most of the climax involved them working together.

Outdrawn just gets 3 stars for me. I do appreciate the sensitive topics that were brought up surrounding mental health and family in overall how it was written. Overall the book left me wanting more romance outside of their careers.
